Allah, the Almighty has given all believers one religious name and that is Muslim.
The Quran states in Chapter 22 Verse 78: “Allah has named you Muslimeen, both in this (Quran) and also (in the books) before it”.
When any person who believes in Allah comes to know that his Creator has given him a religious name, then his faith demands that he identifies himself with the same name.
Other names which are common among this Ummah have not been revealed by Allah but they are invented names which have divided this Ummah into sects and groups.
For more info regarding sectarianism and Firqa’s please see pages 14-16 of our booklet
“The Invitation to Haq”.
Allah, the Almighty has ordered all Muslims to remain united and to keep aloof from sectarianism and Firqa’s.
The jamaat which existed at the time of the holy prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) was definitely not a sect.
This jamaat had the religion of Allah in all its purity as its agenda and was named by the holy prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam).
It preached pure Islam without innovations and Bida’t.
The name of this jamaat was Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen.
The Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) said: 'Women should also take part with Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen in their Eid prayers.' (Sahih Bukhari, Kitab-ul-Eidein)
Hence, Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen is not a new sect but the revival of the original jamaat.
It follows the same principles taught by Allah and His Messenger, without any affiliation to sectarianism.
The Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) said: “Stick to Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen and its Imam; stay away from all sects.” (Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
Islam emphasizes unity and the Quran and Hadith urge Muslims to stay united.
Quranic verses:
1. “And hold fast all of you together to the rope of Allah and do not separate.” (Aale-Imran:102)
2. “Who is better in speech than he who invites towards Allah... I am from the Muslimeen.” (Fussilat:33)
3. “Allah has chosen for you a religion... and die not except as Muslims.” (Al-Baqarah:132)
4. “Say: I have been ordained to be one from among the Muslimeen.” (An-Naml:91)
Hadiths:
1. “Stay united and do not dissent.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
2. “Do not dissent; people before you perished due to it.”
3. “Stick to Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen and its Imam...”
Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen was not formed but restarted, as it was the only jamaat during the Prophet’s time (Sahih Bukhari).
All other sects were created later and are innovations.
Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen is not just a name; it represents the only way to unity as commanded by Allah and His Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam).
Forming another jamaat, even with the same name, leads to division, which is against Islam.
Islam prohibits even two Ameer’s at the same time.
The Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) said: “When the oath of allegiance is taken at the hands of two Imams, kill the latter.” (Sahih Muslim)
Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen follows Quran and Hadeeth purely.
Anyone with reservations is invited to study our books and examine our actions in light of Quran and Sunnah.
We ask: Is there any command from Allah or His Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) to follow four Imams?
If one Imam says something is Halal and another says it is Haram, who should we follow?
Does a non-Hanafi become non-Muslim?
The Quran says: “Follow that which has been revealed to you from Allah...” (Al-Araf:3)
The Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) said: “I am leaving behind two things... Allah’s Book and my Sunnah.” (Mustadrak Hakim)
We should respect the Imams but never more than what Allah allows.
They themselves said:
1. “If my Fatwa is against Quran and Hadeeth, dump it.”
2. “Sahih Hadeeth is my religion.”
3. “Do not follow us blindly...”
So we follow the Imams by following Quran and Sunnah, not by forming sects in their names.
Surah Hujraat says: “Say not you are Momineen; you are Muslimeen.” (Iman hasn’t entered your heart).
Thus, our name is given by Allah: Muslimeen (Surah Hajj:78).
Qualities like Momineen, Muttaqeen, etc. are attributes, not names.
There is no Jamaat-ul-Muttaqeen, Mujahideen, etc. because Islam forbids separate jamaats.
Even if Khalifa is Ameer-ul-Momineen, and wives are Ummul-Momineen, Sahaba were in one Jamaat: Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen.
2. The hadith “A group will always be on Haq” does not imply uninterrupted visibility.
Huzaifa (RadiAllah-Anho) asked: What if Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen is not present?
Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) replied: Stay away from all sects even if you must live isolated and die that way. (Bukhari & Muslim)
Thus, the Jamaat may disappear temporarily and revive later.
Ask your uncle: Was Jamaat Ahl-e-Quran or Ahl-e-Hadees present at the time of Sahaba?
If not, why stay in them and avoid Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen?
When the Prophet (SallAllah-u-Alaihi-wa-Sallam) has clearly instructed something, it does not matter what any scholar did or said.
Yet we ask: Can you prove Imam Bukhari and Muslim:
- Said the Kalima
- Prayed
- Paid Zakat
- Fasted?
Even without explicit proof, we assume they followed Islam based on hadith they recorded.
Fath-ul-Bari by Ibn Hajar (Kitab-ul-I’tisaam) mentions Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen in commentary.
Every preacher practices what they preach. Since they quoted hadiths about Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, they must have followed it.
Ask yourself: CAN YOU PROVE THEY BELONGED TO ANY SECT?
If not, why reject Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen?
We know from the Holy Quran and authentic hadiths the following:
1- Allah chose Islam as the religion for those who believe in Him. (Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 3)
2- Allah named the followers of Islam "Muslims" and commanded that they be known by this name. (Surah Al-Hajj, verse 78; Surah Al 'Imran, verse 64; Surah Fussilat, verse 33)
3- The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) foretold that this nation would split into sects; this nation would split into 73 sects, 72 of which would be in Hell and one in Paradise. (Sunan Abi Dawud: 4597; Sunan Ibn Majah: 3992; Musnad Ahmad: 16979, with an authentic chain of narration)
4- The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described the saved sect (the one that will enter Paradise) as "al Jama'ah" (the community). (Sunan Abi Dawud: 4597; Sunan Ibn Majah: 3992; Musnad Ahmad: 16979, with an authentic chain of narration)
5- The term "al Jama'ah" refers to the "Jama'atul Muslimeen" meaning the community of Muslims. (Sunan an-Nasa'i: 4021, with a sound chain of narration; Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah: 27904)
6- "al Jama'ah" (the community) of the Companions (may God be pleased with them) was also called "Jama'atul Muslimeen" meaning the community of Muslims. (Sahih al-Bukhari: 981, 351)
7- Adhering to "Jama'atul Muslimeen" and avoiding sects is a command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). (Sahih al-Bukhari: 3606, 7084; Sahih Muslim: 1847; Sunan Ibn Majah: 3979)
8- Everything other than "Jama'atul Muslimeen" is a sect, and it is not permissible to join any sect under any circumstances, according to the command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). (Sahih al-Bukhari: 3606, 7084; Sahih Muslim: 1847; Sunan Ibn Majah: 3979)
9- Separating oneself from "al Jama'ah" (the Muslim community) even slightly is like removing the yoke of Islam from one's neck (Sunan Abi Dawud: 4758), and dying in a state of sectarianism is a death of ignorance (Sahih Muslim: 1848).
10- Isolating oneself from the Muslim community is considered a betrayal of faith (Mustadrak al-Hakim: 294, 295, authenticated by al-Dhahabi).
(In the hadith numbers mentioned above, the word "al Jama'ah" appears in the first source, and the term "Jama'atul Muslimeen" appears in the second source.)
After reflecting on all this evidence, we humbly ask you, for the sake of improving your hereafter and to be among those destined for Paradise, to separate yourself from all sects and join the "Jama'atul Muslimeen" Muslim community; for therein lies true success.
These are not the words of ordinary people, but rather the commands of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), which no true believer can reject.
May Allah grant us understanding of the religion of Islam and the ability to act upon it, and may He grant us a final state in which we are Muslims, submitting to Him alone.
